Tereza Mytakou holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics and an MPhil with Distinction in English Language Teaching from Trinity College Dublin, as well as a BA cum laude in English Language and Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Her PhD research, for which she received the Irish Association of Applied Linguistics Award in 2020, explored the use of feminist pedagogy in refugee language education on the island of Leros, Greece. Tereza has taught and coordinated postgraduate courses on Inclusive Education at Trinity College Dublin, as well as Mary Immaculate College, Limerick in Ireland. She also has experience teaching English to various linguistic and ethnic minority groups in Greece (students of refugee background and Roma students) and in Ireland (students of migrant background). Tereza has published some of her work on feminist pedagogy and gender in education and ELT in book chapters and has presented her research at conferences in Europe and the US. Her research interests revolve around inclusive and intercultural education, refugee education, feminist pedagogy, feminist research methodologies, and reflexivity.
