Uphill at the sanctuary of
Mahandew (Gr. Μαχάων, Mahaon) prayers are
said for health and fertility by men only. At the wooden
horse heads holy place men’s prayers are followed by the
ritual of a goat sacrifice and blood sprinkling at the
altar where a fire of juniper branches is burning.
