Vasilina Spanou is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, School of English, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her main research interests focus on the study of linguistic and cognitive functions in neurodegenerative diseases, especially in Primary Progressive Aphasia. She has studied the relationship between cognitive abilities and syntax in monolingual and bilingual school-aged children. Additionally, as an educator she has worked with preschool children as regards the introduction of the English language through specially designed educational scenarios.
