WORKSHOP ABSTRACT
This workshop is mostly experimental: all of us enjoy immersing ourselves into a juicy detective story. But how about becoming the writer and the detective of your own mystery? Dare to join us for an evening of unsolved crimes and urban mysteries that are waiting to be unfolded. The process is twofold: after tracing the variations of tropes in different detective texts, such as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Paul Auster's City of Glass, we will engage in a series of hands-on writing activities that will give you a taste of how a mystery story can be created. Follow the clues, build your story, and experiment with different writing styles! In our activities, we will make use of the online writers’ platform Urnovl. Bring your own laptops or tablets and get ready to unleash your inner detective!
