Description

This course aims to introduce students to multi-ethnic studies in N. America (the U.S and Canada). Key aspects of race and ethnicity will be discussed through literary works drawn from selected ethnic groups in the U.S and Canada. Particular emphasis will be placed on writers of Caribbean descent, writing from within N. America, whose work contributes to global discourses on the dynamics of race, gender, racism, systemic violence and the power of literary art to effect change.
