This course aims at familiarizing students with various developments that have occurred since the 1990s in the field of American literature and digital practice with attention paid to indicative case studies and textual examples. Emphasis will be placed on the ways digitality challenges reading, writing and interpretative practices and skills, while at the same time leading to the reinvigoration of American literary practice through the use of digital manuscript collections, the digital enhancement of book-bound fiction narratives, and the appearance of born-digital literary texts.
