Acoudrama is a theatrical group that was created out of our intense desire to express whatever creativity we had left during the COVID 19 pandemic. We are mainly, but not exclusively, graduate, post-graduate and undergraduate students of the School of English, AUTh. Our goal is to explore the limits, if any, of performativity and theatricality of a currently popular medium: the podcast. Are there constraints relating to different media or genres? How do the absence of images and exclusive use of sound affect the production process? But, most importantly, we wish to discover what happens when you are eager and creative but you don’t have much time, either as a participant or a listener of podcast productions…

Another Romeo and Juliet is a kind of sequel to Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and it was written by Effie Botonaki, Assistant Professor of English Literature, School of English, AUTh, during the second lockdown. This comedy places Shakespeare’s characters in contemporary times and proposes a different ending to the play. What if Romeo and Juliet escaped death? What if the mischievous Mercutio, the embittered Tybalt, and the lovesick Paris survived? And what could the lives of all these characters and their families be like, if they lived in Greece during the pandemic? You can find the answers to the above questions in our podcast.
