We are delighted to inform you that this Friday, 16 December 2022 at 17:00 (ATHENS GREECE LOCAL TIME) Dr Agnieszka Rasmus from the University of Łódź is giving an online presentation on ‘Adapting Shakespearean Self-reflexivity on Screen’ as a guest speaker of the Hellenic Association for the Study of English.
Dr Agnieszka Rasmus teaches in the Department of Studies in English Drama, Theatre and Film, University of Łódź, Poland. She is author of Hollywood Remakes of Iconic British Films: Class, Gender and Stardom (Edinburgh University Press, 2022), Filming Shakespeare, From Metatheatre to Metacinema (Peter Lang, 2008), co-editor of the special issue of Multicultural Shakespeare: Translation, Appropriation and Performance - “Diversity and Homogeneity: Shakespeare and the Politics of Nation, Class and Gender” (Łódź University Press, 2015) and numerous articles on Shakespeare film adaptations and Hollywood remakes. Her academic interests include popular cinema, British cinema and seriality.
