Eirini Kelmali is a PhD Candidate in Linguistics
at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, School of English,
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She holds an MSc in Speech and Language
Processing from the University of Edinburgh and a BA in English Language and
Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The title of her PhD
thesis is “An acoustic analysis of Greek for the development of a speech
training tool for applications in education and speech pathology”. Her main
research interests are in the areas of Greek phonetics and automatic speech
recognition. She teaches the course “Computer Literacy and Research Skills” at
the School of English, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and works as an
instructor at DEI college teaching “Introduction to English Language”,
“Varieties of English” and “Language and Gender”.
