The Phonetics Laboratory
Anastasia Deri is a PhD candidate in Linguistics at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, School of English, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She holds a BA in English Language and Literature from Aristotle University and an MA in Linguistics from the same Department. Her main research interests are in the area of speech development in typical and disorder populations. For her PhD thesis, she examines lingual coarticulation in children with typical speech development and children with speech motor disorders. She is keen on the use of experimental techniques, such as Ultrasound Tongue Imaging which is used as a means of articulatory analysis in her PhD thesis. Also, for her MA thesis, she used Electropalatography to study articulation in Greek speakers with Down Syndrome.
