Lefteris Panagopoulos is Professor at the Department of General and Applied Linguistics, School of English, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has studied in University College London (Diploma in English Linguistic Studies) and in the University of Essex (Ph.D. in Phonetics). He has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Department of English (since 1963) and in Kent State University, Ohio, as a Visiting Professor. He has participated actively in local or international seminars/congresses, in research projects, in counselling postgraduate students (Electronic Engineering and School of Music) and has published extensively in the areas of experimental phonetics and diachronic linguistics.
