Yannis Kanarakisis an adjunct faculty member in the Department of English literature and Culture at Aristotle University, Thessaloniki. He has taught courses on poetry, fiction, aesthetics, Romanticism, the Victorians, and on writing research papers. He has presented several papers at international conferences and his articles have appeared, among others, in The Pater Newsletter, in The Victorian Network and in several edited volumes. His chapter on Victorian Philhellenism is included in Anglo-American Perceptions of Hellenism (2007), published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. His research interests include literary theory and aesthetics, the relation between aestheticism and commodity culture, prose poetry, historical and philosophical fiction, and 19th century politics.
